A favicon is a tiny image that typically appears next to the URL in your browser, not a lot of users notices it or really cares abou it, but it’s not the new Google’s favicon case. Back in June 2008, Google unveiled the stylish blue “g” icon, It was pretty good but it seems that Google didn’t like it.

Today, the company switched again, the new icon have the same stylized lowercase “g”, but this time is too much colorful that it used to be! It includes the company’s classic yellow, blue, green and red color scheme.

Today’s change isn’t much of a surprise, as Marrisa Mayer, the company’s Vice President, Search Products and User Experience announced back in June, the last time the company made a favicon change:

By no means is the one you’re seeing our favicon final, it was a first step to a more unified set of icons.

I personally like the new favicon, I find it more sleek and entertaining that the old one. How about you, how do you like it?
