Google Adsense is a very simple and popular way to earn money online. Many webmasters and bloggers are making a handsome income from Adsense every month. Adsense provides relevant ads on your site. When people visiting the site click on these ads, you earn some money, which may vary from a few cents to a few dollars. But to be successful with Adsense, you have to work very hard and to follow a definite strategy. The following are some tips to help you to increase your earnings from Adsense :
(i) Put the Adsense ads on content rich pages. Keyword research is very important. Use high paying keywords in your content to attract high paying ads.
(ii) The content should be of high quality, original and informative. It should be updated regularly. After each update, ping your site/blog to notify the search engines that fresh content has been added. As the search engines love fresh content, it will drive more organic traffic to your site.
(iii) The Adsense ads should be placed in such places where they are easily noticed by your visitors. The ads may be placed at the top or the right or left sides of a page. A very effective ad format is the ‘Large Rectangle’ ( 336*280), which results in a high click through rate.

(iv) Avoid showing public service ads on your site. These ads do not earn any revenue for the site.
(v) Use titles like ‘Sponsored Links’ or ‘Advertisements’ over the Google ads. Do not put some free space around the ads.
(vi) It is advised to blend the ads with your page. The color of the ads should be matched with the color of the rest of the page and the borders should be removed. This will make the ads to look like normal links and not ads.
(vii) More ad units do not guarantee higher earning. Actually, the less the number of ad units, the more will be the earning per click.
(viii) Track your ‘Click Through Rate’ or CTR from the beginning. Adsense provides a free tracking system which lets you track your CTR for different sites/blogs. You can experiment with different ad colors/fonts, ad placement, content etc. to see which gives you the maximum CTR.
(ix) Try to drive targeted organic traffic from the search engines. The higher the traffic, the higher will be your revenue from ad clicks.

I’ve had very low CTR, but this month it is little less than 3%, something like 2.8%.
Should I change anything in your opinion?

For you CTR, 2.8% is a good click through rate, try to add ads near to content and you’ll may reach a CTR of 5%

To blend the top ad, use this color code when creating the ad block: #f2f7e9 and it will be perfectly blended.

I will in the future, because I don’t want to spam the blog with ads, it may drive the visitors away, for now (I think) 1 ad spot is more than enough, if you look at my CTR, which passes 3% yesterday (I got some clicks)
how did you get that color code, I spent days trying to blend it and couldn’t find the right color, do you use some kind of software to detect the right color?
btw, sorry if I bother you too much.

thanks once again
