5 Places to Visit and Live with a Small Paycheck

Being a budget traveler for years, gave me the opportunity to share with you you an insight on the best places that you can visit and live in with a small budget or a tiny monthly paycheck.

1. Corozal, Belize

If you are seeking for calm, relax and rest, this is the place to be. Corozal is a nice spot for Yoga and meditation, with charming beaches and great restaurants offering tasting food, all inclusive at affordable prices. Getting an apartment in the city center is not a hard task and the price is very reasonable, it’s around 200$/month to rent a 2 rooms sunny apartment. To buy it you’ll need about 100.000$, which means that real estate price is a bit high in comparison to renting, meanwhile the stand of living is low. A good meal will cost you in the average of 8$ and the minimum wage near 300$/month, you can imagine the rest!

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand

One of the most pleasant and rich climate in Asia. Friendly people, great nature full of outstanding mountain landscapes and green areas. Food is healthy, spicy and the cost of living is very affordable. The minimum wage in Thailand is about 3$/hour and to rent an apartment in the city center will cost you in the average of 250$ per month. In the other hand, if you want to escape from the city center and get a bit deeper, you can get yourself hosted for under 150$ a month.

3. Bali, Indonesia

With a moving tourist economy and a dynamic nocturnal life, Bali has too much to offer! Apart the great atmosphere, the city of Bali offers a nice climate to start a new business with too much opportunities for people with small budget. Finding a place to stay at the city center is in the limit of 300$ per month and the minimum wage is about 1.50$ an hour.

4. Chefchaouen, Morocco

Morocco, located in north of Africa is well known for it’s stable climate. Not too much cold in winter, nor too hot in summer. Chaouen is located in the middle of the mountain with an exotic vibrant climate. The architecture is great and the city walls is all painted in a clear blue relaxing the eyes. People are too much friendly, generous and love to help others, especially foreign tourist. Home stay is about 250$ per month and to buy an apartment in the old city center is in the average of 50K$.

5. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta is known for paradise beaches and naturally beautiful and romantic city with great nature. Many couples choose this city to celebrate their weddings for it’s outstanding exotic climate and the overall charming atmosphere of the city. The average cost to rent a 2 bedrooms apartment in the city center is around 450$ monthly and to buy one is about 60k$. At that time the minimum wage is 1$ per hour!
