Lets face it if you go on a family vacation the kids will get restless if you are going on a long trip. You need to keep the kids entertained otherwise the kids will talk your ear off and you know the scenery and the landscape will not keep their interest for to long. Yes it would be great if the kids decided to take a nap but lets face it is not always going to happen like that. The radio is a good thing but there again it will only hold their interest for a little while. So what do you do to entertain the kids on a long car ride? Here are a few suggestions to entertain your kids for that family vacation you want to go on and most of these things will not take up much room in your suitcase.

One good thing to bring that will keep the kids entertained is a good supply of coloring books and plenty of crayons to go around. Of coarse this is a great idea for little kids but some of the older kids would enjoy it to. Another good idea to bring on the long trip you are taking is some travel or pocket games. These games are easy to find and the pieces have magnetic boards so the pieces do not go flying off of the board and so you can still play your game on a bumpy road. These games are played just like the original just smaller to fit into your travel bag or other forms of luggage. A great way to pass the time on a long trip is to play a board game or you always have the alternative, you can read a book.
