Are you sad that there are not enough visitors on your site? Well, most of the new website owners go through this phase because they feel that they have really worked hard on their website but still they are unable to get a good response from the people on the net but that is not the situation in reality. Many a times you might have built a real good website but none of us know it because it does not show up in Google or any other major search engine and unless that happens no one except you can view your site.
Designing and launching a site is crucial for you but internet marketing is also as crucial because unless there is enough traffic on your website, there are hardly any chances of your website being a success.
Content
If you want to generate a good amount of organic traffic for your website than you have to focus and write some unique content for your website. You need to understand the fact that web surfers are always on the quest for good quality content and if you can provide some quality content to them than go ahead and that will work in your favor.
Keywords
While you are writing a powerful content for your website make sure that you add sensible keywords to it because the Google crawler will pick up such keywords and display it in the search lists.
Links
When you are designing your website, try to link it with other popular websites as well because that will help your website reach a larger audience who are currently unaware of your website and the content that you have written.
Social Network
You can use many other social network sites like Facebook and Twitter and get in touch with different friends who are interested in the website you have developed.

I can totally agree with you, especially if you have a blog, then it might be even more important to first socialize and network with other people, because that is how you are going to get your first 10’s and 100’s visitors a day (talking from experience)
SEO is a long-term process. All the traffic that comes from social sites, blog comments, forums etc. is not a regular traffic, it’s just a short-term flow which will eventually stop flowing.
So, good positions in Google and other major search engines ensure the regular flow of new visitors to your site/blog.

January 22, 2010 at 02:33I agree with you 100% Zak. It can be quite demoralizing for new bloggers when they consistently produce stunning content, only to find that they are receiving next to no visitors. By optimizing for the search engines (by following your advice in this post) then people will get more traffic through the search engines (like Google).
