New gaming laptop in the Acer predator range
Acer relies heavily on its Predator laptops dedicated to gaming and has recently introduced the Triton 700, which is both very powerful, very fine, but also very expensive. To find a more affordable product with a slightly more modest design, you will have to turn to the Helios 300, a notebook with a relatively simple look (for the Predator), available in 15.6 and 17.3 inches. Its chassis thus mixes aluminum and metal in a fairly harmonious way, and a few touches of color, especially on the hood, recall the “gamer” side of the product. The dimensions are quite small for a product of this category: the 15.6-inch version weighs 2.7 kg, the 17.3 inches rises to 3 kg. The thickness varies between 2.6 and 2.9 cm depending on the model. The ventilation system has also been improved, as Acer claims to have integrated two “Aeroblade 3D Fan” ventilators, made of very fine metal blades. To see in use, but it must be admitted that the Predators have so far been very good on this point.
Technical configuration of the Acer predator Helios 300
On the configuration side, the Helios 300 offers different features, which should significantly vary the price. You can already know that, regardless of the size of the screen, it is a matte IPS and offers a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 px). The proposed processor is either an Intel Core i5-7300HQ or a Core i7-7700HQ. A CPU that comes with 16GB of RAM, with the ability to mount up to 32GB through two free slots. On the GPU side, you can opt for a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or a GeForce GTX 1060 (the amount of Video memory is not specified). In short, whatever configuration you choose, you should be able to be comfortable in most games on the market, in the native definition of the screen. One last word on the connectivity, which makes in the efficient: 1 USB port 3.1 Type-C, 1 USB port 3, 2 USB 2 ports, HDMI 2 output, SD card reader and Ethernet port.
The Predator Helios 300 will be available for sale in the month of August from 1199 $. How do you feel about that ?
