Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Officially Announced

Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini AnnouncedThere’s no doubt about it. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a superb smartphone but it would be nicer if it would have a compact version. Of course, this will give those who are not so fond of phones with large screen sizes the freedom to choose. Speaking of which, Samsung is here to grant our wish! The compact version of the nature-inspired phone will be made available sometime within next month and it will be called as the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

So what can we expect from the diminutive version of the Galaxy S3? Obviously, it will sport a smaller screen but it will still flaunt its impressive suite of features and specs. As a matter of fact, you might find it cuter than the larger version. It flaunts its 4.0-inch Super AMOLED display sans the Gorilla Glass for extra protection plus its smaller body size will be much easier for you to grip and hold. When it comes to image quality, the GS3 Mini can give you a full screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels with a maximum pixel density of 233 ppi. This is somewhat inferior especially when being compared to the stunning 720 x 1280 screen of the larger Galaxy S3 but good enough to let you watch the latest music videos of your favorite artists.

Now, there’s no exact date as to when the mini version will be officially released. However, this won’t stop those from the UK from getting one because Clove is actually offering the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powered smartphone for pre-order. The famous UK online mobile retailer is selling the Galaxy S3 Mini for £298 which is roughly equivalent to 480 dollars. The price is good especially when you get to know that it has a 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus, geo-tagging and LED flash. You can even use its camera to record videos. It is also equipped with a front facing VGA camera which is obviously very handy because it can be used along with a special app to convert the phone into a mirror.

Needless to say, the mini version of the GS3 is very appealing plus it has a very reliable 1GHz dual core NovaThor U8420 processor. It will be available in two versions – 8GB and 16GB and both versions will have a built-in microSD slot. You also don’t need to worry about running out of memory because it can provide you with 1GB of RAM. That’s not all. You’ll also be able to do the things that you usually do on the larger S3 such as using the S Voice for searching some vital information or using the Direct Call feature to automatically dial a number by simply lifting the phone all the way to your ear.
